ASHLAND, Ohio - The Davenport men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision in overtime at Ashland on Sunday. The first shot on goal for either team came in the 15th minute and it was
Brogan Shrimpton's seventh goal of the season. The header was assisted by
Evan Marquess his third of the season on a cross from the right side.
The Panthers looked to take a 2-0 lead in the 29th minute but
Matt Whelan hit the post. The Eagles tied the game in the 57th minute. Kieran Paterson's header was assisted by Justin Libertowski. DU had two shots on goal after that point both by
Daire O'Riordan.
Ashland got the first shot on goal in overtime and then
Matt Whelan and Shrimpton put a ball on net. Libertowski ended it on his sixth goal of the season in the 97th minute. Paterson and Alexander Majors each had an assist on a cross into the box hit into the lower left corner.
Eric Riley started in goal for Davenport and made two saves. DU held a 10-4 advantage in shots on goal.
