UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The women's swimming and diving squad continued to turn heads on Saturday as they posted a win in tri-meet action over NCAA Division I Valparaiso 129-89. The team's record stands at 4-4 overall.
Riley Faulkner placed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.64. Alexa Bloom of Saginaw Valley took first with a time of 24.57. Allie Steffin placed second in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:14.83. Lydia Mattar of SVSU took first in a time of 2:12.21.
Rose Ostrowski placed second in the one-meter diving with 228.6 points as Elizabeth Caird of SVSU won with 231.8 points.
Faulkner won the 100-yard freestyle for the Panthers with a time of 54.85 as Taylor Grashuis placed second for SVSU with a time of 55.15.
Lauren Bockheim took second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.23) behind Amanda Thielen of Saginaw Valley (59.47). Steffin and
Victoria Postmus in the 100-yard breaststroke went 1-2 with times of 1:06.40 and 1:10.06. The 200-yard freestyle relay won that event in a time of 1:40.20.
