ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Panthers took on the Wolverines of University of Michigan-Dearborn in the semifinals of the GLCHL Playoffs and fell 3-1. The Wolverines have had the Panthers number throughout the season; they won all four games between the two teams. However, Davenport had more offensive opportunities throughout the game than the Wolverines. The Panthers recorded 46 shots on goal compared to only 16 by the Wolverines.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Wolverines jumped on top of the Panthers in the first period, taking a two-goal lead after 20 minutes of play. Davenport had one power play during the period, from 15:43-17:43 DU had a one-man advantage, but could not score.
-
Alex Hulford got the Panthers on the board in the second period, cutting the Wolverines lead down to 2-1. Hulford's goal scored with even strength and assisted by
Luke Cowan. Michigan-Dearborn added a goal with just over two minutes to play in the period to take a 3-1 lead heading into the final period.
-Davenport fought during the third period to get another goal, but were held scoreless.
-Hulford scored the lone goal and Cowan had the only DU assist.
-Playing goalie for DU was
Jason Rhynold, who recorded 13 saves in 58 minutes and 36 seconds.
UP NEXT
The next time DU will be in action is in Columbus, Ohio for the ACHA National Championship! The Panthers play the University at Buffalo in the first round of the playoffs.
