SANDUSKY, Ohio. – The Panthers and Lakers faced each other for the sixth time this season, this time for all the marbles. Davenport and Grand Valley went head to head for the right to be called GLIAC Tournament Champions and the Lakers won the battle. The game went deep into the bottom of the 11th inning and was a pitchers duel throughout. Davenport became GLIAC Tournament runner-ups after the loss.

The pitchers for both teams had incredible games on the mound, throwing 10 straight scoreless innings. Davenport had a runner on second on four separate occasions in the game, in the second, sixth, ninth, and tenth inning. However, the Panthers couldn't score on those opportunities. In extra innings, Selene Pauley made an outstanding sliding catch in the bottom of the 10th to end the inning and prevent a run from scoring. The Lakers singled up the middle in the bottom of the 11th and then hit a triple to right center, scoring the runner from first for the win.

Davenport gave the number nine team in the country everything they had and more. The game could have gone the Panthers way in a heart beat. This was the fourth longest game in DU history. Davenport finished second during the regular season and second in the tournament during their first year of competing in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference (GLIAC).
