HOW IT HAPPENED
Davenport opened the game with four unanswered shots. Sophomore Madeleine Zayan recorded two shots that were blocked and then Roheema Bennett put one on net that was saved by the Rangers goalkeeper. Davenport was awarded a free kick from about 25 yards out and Alex Prout sent the kick high over the net. The first scoring opportunity for the Rangers came from a mishap from the Panthers, they took advantage and netted the opening goal in the 20th minute. Davenport didn't take long to get the equalizer. Katlyn Varney took back-to-back corner kicks and on the second one she found the head of Imanie Richards who near the far post and placed the header into the open net in the 26th minute. The scoring action continued in the game, this time the Rangers scored to give them a 2-1 lead. Davenport had two more shots on goal in the half, one by Sabrina Stone and another by Bennett.

The second half was all the Panthers, despite the lack of goals to prove it. Over the 45-minute half Davenport had four shots on target, but all four were saved by the Rangers Lara Ferrari. The Panthers did everything right in the second half, limiting Parkside to very few offensive opportunities and only one shot on goal. The Rangers were able to hold on to their one-goal lead down the stretch to take the game.
