UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Davenport kicked off the 2019 year by travel to Saginaw Valley State for their SVSU Classic. The Panthers had many top finishers in the meet, including six first place finishes for the women and six for the men.
Men
- Justin Fleser finished second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 52.07.
- In the 800 meter run, DU had the top three finishers. Zach Diamond (2:00.17), Noah French (2:01.79) and Matthew Field (2:02.75) took spots one through three, respectively.
- Shem Haas took first in the mile, finishing in 4:27.60.
- In the 3,000 meter run, Adam Maxwell was first with a time of 9:04.16.
- Thomas VanSlembrouck, Joey Fox, Diamond and Haas finished the 4 x 400 relay in 3:43.56, taking second.
- Davenport took the top two spots in the long jump. Colin Grady finished first with a mark of 6.73 meters and Romario Salmon second with a mark of 6.61 meters.
- Obi Iwuagwu tabbed first place in the triple jump, leaping 13.69 meters.
- In the weight throw, DU again took the top three spots. Brandon MacGregor (17.07 meters) took first, Eric Toledoa (16.58 meters) finished second and Claude Ockert (16.24 meters) took third.
Women
- Chieme Udaku finished first in the triple jump with a distance of 11.35 meters. That mark is a new indoor school record, beating out her own previous record of 11.08 meters.
- In the 60 meter dash, Aleah Mixon took the top spot with a time of 8:04. Right behind her was Jakara Edwards-House with a time of 8:07 seconds, taking second.
- Sarah Stapleton tabbed second place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:03.42.
- The 600 meter dash saw Tiler Tyler take first place, finishing in a time of 1:46.39.
- Kaitlyn Rademacher finished third in the 800 meter run, crossing the line in 2:36.10.
- In the mile, Kelli Weighmink was third with a time of 5:41.35 and Taryn Hubaker was fifth with her time of 5:47.89.
- Alexandra Eby finished second in the 60 meter hurdles, posting a mark of 9.26.
- The 4 x 400 relay team took second with a time of 4:36.47, as Lynden Hamstra, Hubaker, Rademacher, and Weighmink contributed to that finish.
- Emma Schafer was first in the high jump with her height of 1.58 meters.
- Two Panthers tied for first in the pole vault, Betsy Lovett and Eby both cleared 3.42 meters.
- In the long jump, Kelsey Graham posted a mark of 5.18 meters, taking third.
- Danielle Colegrove took third in the shot put, throwing 8.02 meters
- The final first place finish belonged to Jenna Schumaker in the weight throw, she recorded a mark of 16.88 meters.

Davenport will travel back to Saginaw Valley for the Doug Hansen Open on Friday, January 18. The first event will begin at 2:30 p.m. inside the SVSU Fieldhouse.
