HOUGHTON, Mich. - The Michigan Tech Huskies were not very welcoming on Saturday as they triumphed 70-44 against the Panther women's basketball team. Davenport falls to 5-12 overall and 3-7 in the GLIAC, while Michigan Tech moves to 11-7 overall and 7-3 in the conference.
The Panthers trailed by 10 at halftime (35-25) and simply could not find their offense in the second half with 19 points and three points in the fourth quarter. The Huskies turned Davenport over 25 times and scored 27 points off those turnovers. Michigan Tech shot 49.1 percent (3rd best against DU this season) and were hot from the arc going 13-of-24. The Huskies were led in scoring by Ellie Mackay with 14 points. All nine Huskies that played scored in the contest.
Amanda Merz led the Panthers with 11 points and also contributed six rebounds, six assists and four steals in 36 minutes.
Jenna Falkenberg added nine points and a team-high 11 rebounds in 32 minutes.
Kenzie Wilkinson scored six points and grabbed four boards off the bench in 24 minutes.
