GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport STUNT team hosted a large event on Sunday and came away with three wins against Michigan State, Grand Valley State and Alma.
DU vs MSU
19 - 9
Great game for the Panthers against a returning Division 1 team. We started ahead in Quarter 4 - Partner Stunts and maintained a steady pace. It was a strong showing for our first official time out on the game mat!
DU vs GVSU
20 - 7
Almost a perfect scoring game (21) against first year and fellow Division 2 team!
DU vs Alma
16 - 11
The rematch of the 2018 STUNT National Championship. It was an intense and epic game for the Panthers. Trailing by one point after Quarter 1 - Partner Stunts and two following Quarter 2 - Mount. We had a strong showing in Quarter 3 - Jumps and it was tied going into Quarter 4 - Routine Round. We pushed ahead in the last Quarter and finished strong with a 16-11 victory over the Scots!
"We are so proud of this team's resiliency and fight on the game mat! It was a long, rewarding tournament and the culmination of a lot of hard work leading up to this event. This sport is such a mental and physical battle; about being in the moment every count and every rep. This team rose to the task at hand and we couldn't be prouder of them." - Coach
