INDIANAPOLIS - The Davenport University women's volleyball team breezed through day one of the Midwest Region Crossover on Friday with straight-set sweeps of Lake Erie in the morning and Ursuline in the nightcap. The Panthers have now won six of their last seven matches after a 2-10 start to their 2019 campaign.

HIGHLIGHTS - Lake Erie
- Davenport outhit Lake Erie .323 to .120 and even hit an absurd .667 in the second set with 17 kills and only one error on 24 total attacks.
- The Panthers dominated in multiple other categories including points (57-32), kills (45-24), service aces (9-3), and assists (38-23).
- A pair of players sent home 10 or more kills including
Megan Herr (13) and
Hayley Kreiger (11).
- Both of them did so efficiently as well with hitting percentages of .500 and .625, respectively.

Sami White fueled the offense with 29 assists while seven of the team's nine aces came from two Panthers including
Emmy Webb (4) and Kreiger (3).
- Defensively, DU was led by Herr's two blocks and
Nina Rudnitsky's 11 digs.
HIGHLIGHTS - Ursuline
- Davenport kept up the hot hitting with a clip of .324 (Ursuline - .128) on the match with a percentage of at least .300 in each of the three periods.
- The Panthers had 10 aces to the Arrows' one, 36 assists to their 25, 45 kills to their 29, and 77 points to their 54.
- Kreiger was back at it with 12 more kills and another blistering hitting percentage, this time it was .417.
- White racked up 27 more assists and
Kendra DeJonge was the leader from the service line with four aces.
- On the other side of the ball, Herr had two more blocks and Kreiger dug out 13 attempts for the double-double, the first of her career.

Davenport will finish up play in the crossover on Saturday with a 1 p.m. match against McKendree.
