CALEDONIA, Mich. - The Davenport men's soccer team swept the season series with Purdue Northwest after a dominant 4-0 victory under the lights on Friday. They outscored the Pride 7-0 in both wins this season. Tonight's win also moved the Panthers into sole possession of second place in the GLIAC with 21 points. Parkside currently leads with 25 points. DU is now 7-6 overall and 7-3 in the conference. Purdue Northwest falls to 1-11-2 overall and 1-7-2 in the conference.
NOTES AND NUMBERS

Matt Whelan finished with a career-high three assists and assisted on the team's first three goals.

Eoin Broughan tied his career-high with two assists and had a helper on the team's last two goals.

Tyler Welch started things off in the 11th minute with his second goal of the season. It came on DU's first shot on goal for the game. Welch was assisted by Whelan and
Brayden Texer. Texer got it to Whelan who flicked it on to Welch's right foot and he finished from 15 yards.
- The Panthers got another goal in the 43rd minute just before halftime.
Justice Sikkema was the recipient of a Whelan pass from right wing across to the left post. Sikkema scored his fourth of the season right in front of the goal.
- DU then went bang-bang with two quick goals in the second half. Texer scored his first of the season in the 54th minute from Whelan and Broughan. He waited patiently from 13 yards to bury it in the top right corner.

Evan Marquess scored just 22 seconds later as Broughan delivered a long pass through the middle of the field. Marquess gathered and dribbled into space to score from 15 yards for his third of the season.

Joshua Doupe made two saves to earn his fifth shutout of the season.
- Davenport finished with 12 shots and six shots on goal.

"It was a great effort from the whole team tonight. We had several players get on the board and most importantly we found another shutout. We will continue to try to get better daily."
WHAT'S NEXT
The Panthers (7-6, 7-3 GLIAC) will finish a six-game homestand on Sunday with a 2 p.m. kickoff against Upper Iowa (0-12-1, 0-9-1 GLIAC). It will be Senior Day for six Panthers before the team concludes the regular season with three straight road games.
