CALEDONIA, Mich. – Davenport enjoyed recognizing their nine seniors before the game and paired that with a win over GLIAC foe Northwood University. The win moved the Panthers ahead of the Timberwolves in the GLIAC standings. One of the nine seniors recognized was
Cassandra Bosworth, who had arguably the most memorable senior day by scoring the game-winning goal. Davenport remains undefeated in conference play, one of only three teams without a loss so far this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Davenport was physical from the get go and Northwood couldn't get anything going on offense. The Panthers didn't allow the Timberwolves to record a single shot in the half. Davenport got shots on goal from
Marissa Woods,
Madeleine Zayan, and
Ashlyn Skidmore before the Panthers got their best scoring opportunity of the half. With roughly 20 seconds to go in the half, Davenport earned a corner kick and
Holly Bertke sent it towards the net. Her shot curved perfectly towards the goal and the keeper made a great save, punching the ball into the box. Bosworth found the rebound right in front of her and sent a shot towards the net, the keeper made a diving save but the line official waved his flag, signaling a goal. Despite the keeper getting her hands on the ball, Bosworth's shot still crossed the line for a DU goal with only a few seconds left in the half.
The Panthers continued their dominance in the second half. Northwood finally recorded some shots in the half, but thanks to a diving save by
Samantha Beckles, neither shot on goal would score. Davenport continued to provide pressure on the offensive end, as
Sarah Possett, Bertke, Woods, and
Ashlyn Skidmore recorded shots on goal. The defense held off Northwood and Davenport earned three points towards the GLIAC standings on senior day.
Beckles recorded two saves and earned her seventh shutout of the season.
