DETROIT - Davenport defeated Wayne State in four sets back in late September, but the Warriors returned the favor on Friday night in the Matthaei Center. The Panthers must win on Saturday at Ashland in order to qualify for the GLIAC Tournament.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The first set saw 12 ties with five lead changes and it was the best hitting set of the night for Davenport at .286.
- The momentum shifted when Davenport was up two, 18-16, and Wayne State reeled off five points in a row.
- The second set featured only three ties and one lead change as the Panthers used three separate runs of at least 4-0 to take care of business.
- In the third set, the Warriors scored 14 of the first 17 total points and the Panthers could never get closer than four after that (19-15 and 20-16).
- Davenport's final lead of the match came at 7-6 in the fourth set before the Warriors scored nine of the next 12 points to go up five, 15-10.
- The visitors battled back and got the deficit down to a pair, 20-18, before the home team notched four of the final five points to win the set and the match.
- Wayne State's best hitting clip of the night came in that fourth period at .393.

NEXT UP
As mentioned above, the Panthers will face the Eagles on Saturday at 5 p.m. for a spot in the GLIAC Tournament. Ashland defeated Davenport in five sets back on Sept. 27 inside the DU Student Center.
