INDIANAPOLIS - The Davenport University women's volleyball team finished up its four-match, two-day stretch at the Indianapolis Invitational on Saturday night. The Bulldogs dropped a pair of three-set decisions to the likes ot Illinois Springfield and Indianapolis to fall to 2-6 on the young 2019 season.
Illinois Springfield 3, Davenport 0
(22-25, 19-25, 19-25)
- Illinois Springfield out-hit Davenport by nearly 15 percent, .245 to .106.
- Two of the Prairie Stars' sets saw them hit at least .267 including a blistering .324 in the opening period of play.

Hayley Kreiger turned in her second-consecutive match with 11 kills and did so with five errors on 31 total attacks.

Sami White racked up 14 assists, seven more than the next-closest Panther, and DU's one service ace came from
Kendra DeJonge.
- Defensively, Davenport was paced by
Emmy Webb and
Megan Herr's two blocks apiece as well as White and
Nina Rudnitsky's nine digs each.
Indianapolis 3, Davenport 0

- Davenport's offense came to play much better against Indianapolis as it hit .259, but the Greyhounds answered with a .373 hitting percentage of their own.
- DU hit above .390 in two of its sets, but Indianapolis rattled off a mark of .516 in the third and final set to seal it.
- The Panthers were led by Kreiger (nine kills and three blocks),
Grace Hayes (13 assists and one ace),
Kenzy Corstange (one ace and nine digs), Webb (three blocks), and
Kiera Lasky (nine digs).

Davenport will make its 2019 home and GLIAC debuts on Friday with a 7 p.m. first serve against the Huskies of Michigan Tech inside the student center.
