HOLLAND, Mich. - It was a fantastic start to the 2020 season for the Davenport men's tennis team with a 7-0 win at Hope College on Friday night. The Panthers played twice during the fall and thus are 3-0 overall this season.
The Panthers swept the doubles play and a new face debuted in Juan Jose Cantoleon for DU. He teamed with
Juan-Louis van Antwerpen for a 6-2 win at one doubles over Alec Berrodin and Jacob Burkett.
Remy Johansen and
Jonathan Bulmer took it to Cameron Coates and Matt Henkel at two doubles with a 6-0 win.
Max Hartman and
Daniil Khitrou won 6-3 at three doubles over Tyler Stafford and Tyler Koran.
Davenport took all six singles matchups in straight sets. Johansen won 6-0, 6-1 at one singles over Danny Kroeze. Bulmer also won 6-0, 6-1 at three singles over Berrodin. Khitrou blanked Henkel 6-0, 6-0 at five singles.
