The Davenport University men's basketball team returns home and will look for its first win of the season with Purdue Northwest in town on Friday (5 p.m.) and Saturday (1 p.m.). In the Panthers' first four games,
Scott Ulaneo has emerged as the team's go-to scorer with 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, which rank seventh and tied for sixth in the league, respectively. Also averaging in double-figures so far for Davenport are
Chris Rollins (13.0 PPG) and
Evan Hines (10.3 PPG) while Rollins is first on the team and tied for first in the GLIAC in assists per game at 4.0.
Purdue Northwest boasts five scorers averaging at least 10 points per game including Preseason All-GLIAC selection, Jyrus Freels (14.0), Anthony Barnard (11.8), Mikell Cooper (11.0), Vincent Miszkiewicz (10.8), and Gregory Boyle (10.0). Leading both the Pride and GLIAC in rebounding is Miszkiewicz as the 6-7 forward is bringing down 12.5 boards per contest, 2.5 rebounds per game better than the next-best mark in the league, Christian Negron's 10.0 per contest. Leading the Pride in assists is Cooper with 3.5 per game, which ranks in a tie for fifth in the conference. As a team, Purdue Northwest is fourth in the league in scoring with 71.8 points per outing.
