BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport University women's soccer team was tasked with No. 11 Ferris State on the road Friday, but came up short against the Bulldogs, 4-0. Next up on the schedule, Davenport will host Parkside (2-6, 0-4 GLIAC) on Sunday at 11 a.m. inside Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex.
The Bulldogs scored their goals in the 44th, 73rd, 75th, and 87th minutes while out-shooting the Panthers 22-9, including 13-2 in the first half and 7-3 in shots on goal for the entire 90 minutes. The home team also had the advantage in corner kicks, 4-2, while the visitors committed more fouls, 20-17.
Offensively for Davenport, the team's nine shots came from five different players including
Haley Diekevers (3 shots, 1 SOG),
Filippa Struxsjoe (3 shots, 1 SOG),
Kylee Winn (1 SOG),
Izabelle Olsson (1 shot), and
Julia Stidam (1 shot). In goal for the Panthers,
Samantha Beckles got the start (her first since Sept. 17 at Michigan Tech) with three saves on seven shots faced.
