ALLENDALE, Mich. - Prior to Wednesday night inside GVSU Fieldhouse Arena, the Davenport University women's volleyball team had never faced Grand Valley State in the GLIAC Tournament. Just over two hours later, the Panthers improved to 1-0 against the Lakers in said tournament and tied up the all-time series at six wins apiece. Davenport now moves on to face top-seeded and 20th-ranked Michigan Tech in Houghton on Saturday in the GLIAC Tournament semifinals.
Davenport faced Michigan Tech just once in the regular season and it was in Houghton nearly two months ago with the Huskies winning in three sets (25-8, 25-20, 26-24). The Panthers have faced the Huskies just five times since joining the GLIAC prior to the 2017 campaign and Michigan Tech has won four of those five meetings.

- Groves has now sent home at least 10 kills in two of her last five matches, both of which were against Grand Valley State.
- Herr has reached double-digits in kills seven times in her last 13 matches after doing so just four times in her first 14 outings.
- Groves, the team's leader in service aces with 27, racked up five of them on Wednesday, a new career high, and had just four of them in her career entering this season.
- Odeen reached the 20-assist mark for the fourth-straight match, which ties her season-long stretch of four to begin the season.
- Corstange, responsible for the second-most digs in the GLIAC, dug out 20 attacks for the fourth time in her last six matches and 11 time this fall.
- Grand Valley State hit just .195 as a team, just their third time hitting below .200 in a home match this season.
