HOLLAND, Mich. - The Davenport women's tennis team was defeated by Hope College 7-0 on Saturday and are now 1-3 overall this season.

Danica Malan got a 8-3 win at two doubles but the Panthers could not take a team point as they lost at one and three doubles.
Willemien Coetzee had a really tough matchup at one singles and went three sets against Sydney Jackson. Jackson won the first set 6-4 and then Coetzee won the second set 7-6. Jackson won the super tiebreaker 10-7. Malan at three singles also had a three-set match against Bailey Chorney. Chorney won 7-5 in the first set and Malan won the second set 6-3. Chorney claimed the tiebreaker 10-3. Carofano at two singles also went three sets winning the first set 6-3. She dropped a 6-1 set to Leah Newhof and then Newhof won 10-8 in the tiebreaker.
