INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Davenport men's lacrosse team took on #14 Lindenwood on a neutral site on Saturday and fell 15-6 to the Lions.
The Panthers (0-2) found themselves down 4-1 after the first quarter. Carter Collins scored twice for the Lions in the quarter and
Adam Smellie scored at 12:50 from
Fernando Rodriguez for the Panthers.
The Lions (2-0) led 8-3 at halftime behind four more goals in the second quarter. Collins scored two more times in the quarter to give him four goals for the first half.
Jordan Caskenette and
Stephen Ochsenkehl scored in the quarter for Davenport.
Keagan King had an assist on Caskenette's goal at the 14:46 mark.
Austin Thompson scored both goals in the third quarter for the Panthers. Caskenette assisted on both of those goals. Nolan Corker scored twice in the quarter for Lindenwood. Leonard Jones scored twice in the fourth quarter including a man-up goal at 11:52 from Rob Tucker.
James Johnston scored the lone goal in the final quarter for Davenport with
Trey Zelinski having an assist at the 2:55 mark.
Lindenwood totaled 56 shots and 33 shots on goal.
Daniel Milano had a nice game in goal for Davenport with 18 saves. The Panthers totaled 26 shots and 14 shots on goal. Lindenwood also led 38-28 in groundballs and won 20-of-25 face-offs.
Milano led the team with 12 groundballs.
Kaden Seelye led the team with four caused turnovers.
