GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport women's tennis team welcomed Tiffin University on Tuesday to MVP SportsPlex. The Dragons were too much for the Panthers in a 7-0 outcome which leaves Davenport at 1-1 overall on the young season.
Tiffin took all nine matches including six singles and three doubles.
Sophie Jackson and
Willemien Coetzee put up a good fight at one doubles but ultimately fell 7-5 against Emily Sim and Juliette Sirgant. The other two doubles saw DU win just two games.
The Dragons took the singles matches in straight sets. The best showing was by Coetzee at one singles in a 6-4, 6-2 setback against Abbie-Jade Riley.
Isabella Carofano at two singles and
Danica Malan at three singles each took five total games in two sets.
