Davenport to Close Out Regular Season at Parkside

The final two matches of the 2021 regular season are here for the Davenport women's volleyball team as the Panthers (7-5) will be at Parkside (3-9) on Friday (8 p.m. ET) and Saturday (4 p.m. ET) looking to build momentum heading into the GLIAC Tournament. Davenport is coming off a pair of hard-fought losses (3-1 and 3-2) at home to the league's top team, Northern Michigan. At the time, the Wildcats were tied for 21st in the country according to the AVCA and have since risen to No. 19 in that poll. Meanwhile, this week's opponent, Parkside, has lost two matches in a row overall and four of five at home.

Taking a look at the Rangers' statistical leaders, they include Reese Rossnagel (125 kills), Alysha Brickl (301 assists and 13 service aces), Kaylee Kuecker (13 service aces and 177 digs), Lexi Packard (27 blocks). Davenport leads the all-time series with Parkside, 3-1, but the Rangers took the two teams' most-recent meeting, 3-2, on Nov. 9, 2019 in Grand Rapids.

All 12 GLIAC teams will make its tournament (April 9-11) and as of this release, Davenport is the No. 6 seed and would face the No. 11 seed, Lake Superior State, on Friday, April 9. Davenport won both of its matches at Lake Superior State on March 5-6, 3-1 and 3-0. The Panthers will be competing in their first GLIAC Tournament since 2018 and third since joining the league prior to the start of the 2017 season.
