ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The biggest stage for Davenport baseball since entering the NCAA Division II ranks will begin on Thursday (May 27) as the third-seeded Panthers (30-14) travel to the NCAA Midwest Regional to take on the host school and fourth-seeded Lindenwood Lions (33-7) at 6:00 PM local central time (7:00 PM eastern time). Both teams are riding long win streaks heading into what should be one of the best games on the first day of action. Davenport has won 14 straight games, their longest streak since the 2017 season, while the Lions have won eight in a row. Davenport captured their first GLIAC regular season and tournament championships to earn the automatic bid, while Lindenwood hosted and won the GLVC Tournament to gain entry into the regional. This will be the first meeting between the teams and one of just four opening games in all the regions that feature two 30-win teams each. The Midwest Regional will be a double-elimination format with the winner advancing to the NCAA Division II World Series in Cary, N.C. from June 5-12.
