GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Freshman forward,
Haley Diekevers (pictured), got Davenport on the board in the 77th minute against Northern Michigan with her second goal of the season thanks to an assist from
Ajaysia Hacker, but the Panthers were unable to overcome a 5-0 deficit.
The Wildcats scored their goals in the 15th, 29th, 44th, 48th, and 73rd minutes while out-shooting the Panthers 23-11, including 12-4 in shots on goal. Those 23 shots for NMU came from 10 different players and Justina L'Esperance was responsible for two of the five goals. The visitors also held the advantage in corner-kick attempts, 8-0.
For the Panthers, their 11 shots were taken by eight different players including Diekevers (1 SOG),
Filippa Struxsjoe (3 shots),
Natalia Casiello (2 shots, 1 SOG),
Izabelle Olsson (1 SOG),
Gabby Scholten (1 SOG), Hacker (1 shot),

In goal,
Gabriana Bennecke made her third-straight start (3 saves, 11 shots faced), but gave way to
Samantha Beckles right before halftime due to injury. In relief, Beckles made four stops on 12 shots faced.
Next up on the schedule, Davenport will be at No. 16 Ferris State (6-1, 3-0 GLIAC) on Friday for a 4 p.m. opening kickoff in Big Rapids.
