GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - In a match that was scoreless for the first 87 minutes and 25 seconds, Quincy scored the day's lone goal with a Davenport own goal in the 88th minute. The Panthers now trail the Hawks 1-2 in the all-time series (both losses at home) and will face Truman State on Sunday with an 11 a.m. kickoff at Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex.
Overall, Quincy fired a total of 14 shots to Davenport's eight including an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal. The Panthers tallied two corner kick attempts to the Hawks one while
Gabriana Bennecke saved a personal best six shot attempts, but surrendered the first goal of her young career.
Offensively for Davenport, its eight shots came from three different players including
Alexis Cook (three shots, two on goal),
Haley Diekevers (three shots, one on goal) and
Kaitlyn Ray (two shots, one on goal) off the bench). Diekevers and Ray were joined by
Izabelle Olsson,
Gabby Scholten,
Medina Hindic, and
