GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport University women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Truman State on Sunday at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex. Next up, the Bulldogs will be at Rollins on Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff against the Tars.
The Bulldogs scored their goals in the 27th (x2), 58th and 86 minutes while out-shooting the Panthers 16-4, including 10-3 in shots on goal. Davenport's four shots came from three different players in
Gabby Scholten (two shots, two shots on goal),
Kandis Orns (one shot, one shot on goal) and
Haley Diekevers (one shot).
In goal for the Panthers,
Gabriana Bennecke faced 16 shots and saved six of them. On the other side, Truman's Beth Hopwood (one save) started before giving way to Tatumn Damron (two saves) at halftime. The Bulldogs' goals were scored by Hanna Hickey (2) and Faith Branson (2).
