BENSENVILLE, Ill. - The men's ACHA D1 Hockey team ran their win streak to four on Saturday night with a 6-2 win at Roosevelt to complete the weekend sweep of the Lakers. Davenport improved to 13-7 overall and 7-3 in true road games on the season. Davenport found themselves down 2-0 early in the game and then proceeded to score the final six goals of the contest.
Roosevelt scored at 3:31 of the first period as Zach Brumm found the back of the net. Just 25 seconds later, the Lakers put another one away as Tanner Hallett gave the Lakers a two-goal cushion. The Panthers settled in after that torrid start and found two goals themselves to end the period with a 2-2 tie.
Austin Thompson scored at 7:41 from
Nathan Nickelson and
Sebastien Doucet and then 32 seconds later it was
Robert McLaughlin from Adam Hulsey and
Kristers Klavins.
Davenport would add two goals in the second and third periods.
Aidan Talsma scored at 1:16 of the second period from
Justin Turner and
Zachary Currie. Thompson got his second goal of the night at 9:28 from Nickelson and Doucet. Jacob Demeter lit the lamp at 3:52 of the third period from
Logan Davis and Tyler Majewski. Thompson completed his hat trick and ended the scoring at 9:56 from
Jacob Boucha and Turner.
Davenport kept themselves out of the penalty box for the most part with four minor penalties on the night. DU outshot Roosevelt, 44-25, during the contest.
Nathan Gauthier stopped 23 shots in net for the Panthers.
