CALEDONIA, Mich. - The women's tennis team improved to 2-0 this fall with a 6-0 win over NCAA Division III Alma College at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex on Tuesday evening. The doubles portion was a sweep for the Panthers.
Amy Bloch and
Skye Vandeleur were winners, 7-5, at one doubles over Elizabeth Hill and Amanda Szymborski for the Scots.
Charlotte Zhuwakini and
Valentina Moreno at two doubles were 6-4 winners over Kayla Weller and Summer Stoldt.
Kumiko Yamaguchi and
Sophie Jackson at three doubles were 6-0 winners over Holland Hall and Bronwyn McAlindon.
The Panthers finished out the match with five singles wins. The two singles went unfinished with
Willemien Coetzee leading 6-0, 5-3. Vandeleur at one singles won 6-1, 6-0 over Weller. Yamaguchi at three singles won her match, 6-0, 6-2, against Hill. Moreno at four singles won 6-0, 6-0 over Stoldt. Zhuwakini at five singles won 6-2, 6-1 over McAlindon. Jackson at six singles won 6-2, 6-1 over Hall.
