CALEDONIA, Mich. - Playing at home for the first time in 19 days, the Davenport University women's soccer team hosted Ferris State at The Farm on Friday. The match's lone goal was scored by the Bulldogs in the 19th minute as Isabella Zamborini found the back of the net off of Katie Nestico's assist. Next up for the Panthers, they'll host Saginaw Valley State on Sunday with the opening kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
Ferris State out-shot Davenport 17-5, including 8-1 in shots on goal, and notched seven corner kicks to the Panthers' zero. For DU, those five shots came from three different players including
Arianna Diemer (2 shots, 1 shot on goal,
Haley Diekevers (2 shots), and
Kathryn Hoeger (1 shot). In goal for the home team,
Gabriana Bennecke saved seven shots and faced 17 of them.
