OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jason Whittaker, Davenport
Jason Whittaker won the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week award with his performance against Northwood and his encore might have been even better in a 52-38 win over Michigan Tech. DU scored 50-plus points in back-to-back games for the first time in school history and Whittaker led the offense to 556 total yards. One week after setting the school record for total yards, this game featured the second most total yards just six yards shy of last week's win over Northwood. Whittaker finished with the second highest completions (24) and attempts (40) in a game at DU and accounted for five passing and one rushing touchdown for the second straight game. To put that into perspective, DU as a team had just five passing touchdowns in all of 2021 and this season Whittaker has 12 TD's and just one interception.
