Scouting Lake Superior State: Picked to finish third in the GLIAC with one first-place vote in the preseason, Lake Superior State has won just one of its first five games like Davenport. With that being said, the Lakers are in search of their first victory over a Division II opponent this season. Individually, four players are averaging at least 10 points per game including Caden Ebeling (13.6), Preseason First Team All-GLIAC honoree, Kemon Bassett (11.0), Tyson Edmondson (10.8), and Xander Okerlund (10.0). Bassett also leads LSSU in rebounding with 6.6 per contest and assists with 3.4 per outing. Davenport has dropped two in a row in Sault Ste. Marie and is 1-5 all-time on Lake Superior State's floor.

Scouting Ferris State: The last time Davenport faced Ferris State was in Big Rapids for the GLIAC Tournament quarterfinals. The eighth-seeded Panthers knocked off the top-seeded Bulldogs, 91-90, before going on to win the first GLIAC Tournament Championship in program history. Winners of four games in a row this season, the Bulldogs also have four averaging double-figures including Preseason Second Team All-GLIAC honoree, Ben Davidson (12.3), Solomon Oraegbu (10.8), also on the Second Team, Ethan Erickson (10.7), and Dolapo Olayinka (10.7).
