GLIAC Release
GLIAC - Redshirt-senior point guard,
Chris Rollins, was named GLIAC South Player of the Week for the third time in his career and second time this season on Monday afternoon. The honor comes after Rollins averaged 17.5 points per game in a four-game week for Davenport, all of which were wins for the Panthers.
Rollins led Davenport to its second four-game winning streak of the season and got better as the week progressed with point totals of 14, 17, 19, and 20. The Detroit native scored the game high in two of those four games in Saginaw Valley State on Thursday and Wayne State the following Saturday. Against the Warriors, Rollins reached the 20-point mark for the 19th time in his career (leads the team) and fourth time this season (ties the team lead).
Rollins and the eighth-seeded Panthers (14-13, 10-10 GLIAC) will be at No. 25/top-seeded Ferris State (21-7, 16-4 GLIAC) on Wednesday night for a 7:30 p.m. tip in the GLIAC Tournament quarterfinals.
