ORLANDO, Fla. - The Davenport women's tennis team had won three of their last four matches heading into Monday, but fell 6-1 against Southeastern (FL) to stand at 4-7 overall this season.
The Panthers got their point in doubles winning two of three matches.
Willemien Coetzee and
Vladislava Shumilova won 6-3 at one doubles.
Charlotte Zhuwakini and
Isabella Carofano also won at three doubles by a 6-4 margin. Charlotte and Isabella teamed up for the first time this season.
The Fire took all six matches during singles play with five of those coming in straight sets. Zhuwakini extended her match at six singles into three sets. She lost 6-0 in the first set and rallied for a 6-2 win in the second set. Zhuwakini lost 11-9 in the super tiebreaker against Abigail Damon.
