ORLANDO, Fla. - The Davenport women's tennis team battled a good University of Mary team on Tuesday night. The Marauders got the narrow 4-3 win to improve to 6-1 overall. Davenport is now 4-8 overall.
The Marauders won all three doubles matches and did not allow more than two games in those matches.
Willemien Coetzee at one singles needed three sets but won 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 in the tiebreaker.
Isabella Carofano at two singles won 6-3, 6-0 over Ilona Freitag.
Vladislava Shumilova at five singles also picked up a win by scores of 6-0, 6-1 over Heidi Jacobson. Mary won the other three singles matches in straight sets for the win.
