GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport University STUNT program was in action again on Sunday, but this time hosting for the first time this season. The Panthers welcomed Michigan State and Alma before defeating the Spartans, 20-4, but fell to the Scots, 19-18. Next up, DU will be at the Oklahoma STUNT games on Feb. 26 in Shawnee, Okla. against the likes of Oklahoma Baptist (11 a.m.), Oklahoma City (3 p.m.) and Texas Woman's (4 p.m.).

The Panthers came out strong in this round putting up all four possible points.
Quarter 2Â - Pyramids and Tosses
Score: 8-1Â
The Panthers put points up in all four routines of this quarter and led the Spartans 8-1 going into halftime.
Quarter 3Â - Jumps and Tumbling
Score: 11-2Â
This was another strong quarter for the Panthers with the exception of one point/routine, DU secured a larger lead.
Quarter 4Â - Combination Routine
Final Score: 20-4
Davenport solidified the win against MSU with an impressive nine points in this quarter.

The Panthers and Scots came out strong in partner stunts. The Panthers were edged out for one point and trailed going into the second quarter.
Quarter 2Â - Pyramids and TossesÂ
Score: 5-6
This was another strong quarter for the Panthers. A challenge was made in the first routine by Coach Kiogima that resulted in a point for the Panthers. The Panthers trailed by one going into halftime.
Quarter 3Â - Jumps and Tumbling
Score: 8-8
Our jumps and tumbling quarter! The Panthers managed to make up that point with an excellent quarter of jumps and tumbling. It's all tied up going into the final combination routine quarter.
Quarter 4Â - Combination Routine
Final Score: 18-19
This was a back and forth period, an intense and energetic quarter! Routine eight was called by Coach Kiogima and the Panthers were up by one! From there, the call was routine six. The officials awarded the Scots and they tied up the game. The final call was routine one. The Panthers and Scots tie each round and the game goes to overtime!Â
Double overtime resulted in the Scots edging the Panthers by one point.
"This was a tough loss, but if I know my team, they will use this to fuel us forward," said head coach,
Celia Kiogima. "I'm so proud of this group of young women for the class, grit, energy, and pride they exuded during this rivalry game. We have a 'What's next?" mentality and our eyes are set to our Oklahoma STUNT games!"
