WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Rollins College women's tennis team was not very welcoming on Wednesday afternoon as they beat Davenport 7-0. For the Panthers, it was their third straight setback against one of the best teams they've played all season long.
The Tars wasted little time in doubles yielding just three games in those three matches. Alexandra Borg and Georgina Groth won 6-1 at one doubles over
Willemien Coetzee and
Vladislava Shumilova.
Sophie Jackson and
Isabella Carofano for the Panthers lost 6-2 at three doubles against Erin Yaroshuk and Eve Wasil.
Rollins clinched the shutout with six singles wins all coming in straight sets.
Kumiko Yamaguchi played the closest match at five singles falling to Natalia Collado Cord by scores of 7-5, 6-2. No other Panthers managed more than two games won in any set.
