GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The women's tennis team snapped a five-match losing streak on Saturday morning with a 4-3 victory over Northwestern Ohio at the Grand Rapids Racquet Club. DU is now 5-11 overall this season while the Racers are 4-6.
Willemien Coetzee and 
Vladislava Shumilova teamed up at one doubles as always and got a 6-2 win over Jelena Lopicic and Veronika Kovalchuck. The Racers won the next two doubles matches to earn a team point. 
Charlotte Zhuwakini and 
Louise Hosking at two doubles fell 6-3 to Alizee Ripolles and Neo Mafuyeka. 
Kumiko Yamaguchi and 
Isabella Carofano at three doubles lost 7-5 against Ana Cetina and Dayana Morejon.
The singles is where the damage was done for the Panthers winning four times to take the match. Coetzee, Carofano, Shumilova, and Yamaguchi won their matches.
Coetzee won 6-3, 6-1 over Cetina at one singles. Carofano won 6-4, 6-3 at two singles over Lopicic. Shumilova won 6-1, 6-1 at three singles over Kovalchuk. Yamaguchi won 6-0, 6-2 at five singles over Ana Sofia Marquez.
