QUINCY, Ill. - The No. 25 Davenport University women's lacrosse team made it three wins in a row to start the season on Wednesday as the Panthers made quick work of Quincy, 20-5. Once the Hawks scored the game's first goal, the Panthers answered with seven straight and didn't look back as they only gave up back-to-back goals once all day. DU has now outscored QU 39-9 in two all-time meetings. Next up, Davenport will be at No. 2 Indianapolis on Sunday for a 12 p.m. start inside Key Stadium where the Panthers played their first two matches of the spring.
Eight different Panthers broke into the scoring column including
Anna Glynn (6),
Ayanna Turrubiates (4),
Aaliyah Miller (3),
Blakely Malpass (2),
Reilly Noble (2),
Maddy Haynes (1),
Jordon Highley (1), and
Heaven-Lee Nichols (1). Turrubiates led the way in total shots with 12, 11 of which were on target, while all six of Glynn's attempts found the back of the net. Glynn also finished with a game-high 11 ground balls, seven more than her previous career high.
Defensively, five Panthers recorded one caused turnover apiece including Glynn,
An Poropat,
Addie Bethune,
Theadora Krueger, and
Fredi Mailand. Quincy only mustered 12 shots, seven on goal, to Davenport's 43, 40 of which were on goal.
Maisy Latus picked up the win, her third in as many games, and saved two shot attempts.
