ORLANDO, Fla. - The women's tennis team finished their spring break trip on Friday with a 6-1 loss to Charleston (WV) and are now 4-10 overall this season. The Golden Eagles won all three doubles matches in a cascading fashion. UC won 6-4 at one doubles, 6-3 at two doubles, and 6-2 at three doubles.
Willemien Coetzee and
Vladislava Shumilova had the 6-4 at one doubles setback against Prinkle Singh and Haarini Balakrishnan.
Isabella Carofano and
Louise Hosking teamed up at two doubles against Alexiann Drouin and Meggan William. Barbara Balancho and Regina Saucedo for UC formed a duo against
Kumiko Yamaguchi and
Kailyn Skogmo for the Panthers.
Yamaguchi got the team's point at five singles with a 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 win over Aida Montero. She is now 9-10 in singles overall including 6-8 in dual matches. Shumilova went into three sets at four singles before falling narrowly 6-4, 4-6, 13-11 in the super tiebreaker.
