FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The fourth-ranked Nova Southeastern baseball team for the second straight day scored runs in bunches early on Friday night in a 15-1 win over Davenport. The Sharks scored once in the first but then added three runs in the second, sixth in the third, and five more in the fourth to build a 15-0 lead. Nova Southeastern hit two home runs in the contest as Duncan Pastore had a two-run shot to left in the third and Adam Frank hit a grand slam in the fourth to make it 15-0. Frank drove in five runs after driving in four runs in yesterday's game with two home runs. Pastore finished with four RBI and also had a sacrifice fly. Alex Hernandez went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI. The Sharks had 13 hits in the game as the Panthers had six hits and no one with multiple hits.
Logan Hylek and
Noah Marcoux each had a double.
Derrick Edington (0-1) took the loss and lasted two innings in his start. Edington allowed five hits and five earned runs with two walks and two hit batters.
Zach Haefer had 3.1 relief innings and allowed just two hits and no runs with four walks and two strikeouts. Daniel Rivero (4-0) went five innings for NSU to get the win. Rivero allowed three hits and no runs with a walk and three strikeouts. The Sharks did not allow an earned run in the contest. These teams will conclude their three-game series tomorrow with first pitch scheduled for 12:00 PM.
