CALEDONIA, Mich. - The Davenport women's tennis team cruised to their third straight win on Tuesday with a 7-0 victory over Grace Christian at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex. It was the first time the team was able to play outdoors locally under beautiful spring weather in West Michigan. Davenport is now 8-15 overall this season.
The doubles portion saw two matches finish at 6-0.
Willemien Coetzee and
Kumiko Yamaguchi teamed up at one doubles for the third time this season and got their first win together over Mikayla Reynolds and Olivia Rachoy.
Isabella Carofano and
Louise Hosking at two doubles beat Ellie Simmons and Ashleigh Welty. Carofano and Hosking also teamed for the third time this season and got their first win as a tandem.
Sophie Jackson and
Kailyn Skogmo at three doubles got a 6-2 win over Alivia TerMeer and Aimee Lake. Once again it was the third time they played together this season and it was their first win as a duo.
Coetzee at one singles, Carofano at two singles, and Yamaguchi at four singles each won 6-0, 6-0. Hosking at three singles won 6-0, 6-2 over Welty.
Charlotte Zhuwakini at five singles won 6-1, 6-1 over Lake. Jackson at six singles picked up a 6-2, 6-0 victory over TerMeer.
