DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Davenport cheerleading team captured the NCA All Girl Division II national championship and it is the first D2 title for the Panthers. They have won six national championships overall.
Davenport had stiff competition from Oklahoma Baptist and in this sport there is a slim margin for error. The Panthers scored 97.19 in the finals after a very close prelims round. Oklahoma Baptist finished second with a team score of 97.15. The teams are judged by categories such as stunts, pyramids, tosses, standing tumbling, running tumbling, and jumps.
