GRANDVILLE, Mich. - The men's tennis team is figuring out just how difficult the GLIAC can be after a 6-1 loss to Grand Valley State on Saturday. The Panthers are No. 24 in the latest NCAA Division II poll but dropped their third straight match in the league sitting at 14-5 overall and 1-3 in the conference. GVSU improved to 12-3, 4-1 in the GLIAC.
Quintan van Wijk and
Joel Mast were able to get a win at two doubles 7-6 against Freddy Cossio and Sebastian Arce. The three doubles match was a swing moment but a 7-5 win by Sean Miller and Martin Matov of GVSU over
Daniil Khitrou and
Juan Jose Pino Contoleon gave the doubles point to the Lakers.
van Wijk again picked up another singles win at the two position with scores of 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 over Arce.
Jonathan Bulmer had a tight match at three singles by fell 6-4, 7-6 against Miller.
