GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport men's tennis team got back to their winning ways after three straight setbacks with a 7-0 win over Aquinas on Saturday at MVP SportsPlex. The Panthers improved to 15-5 overall while the Saints are now 9-10.
Juan-Louis van Antwerpen and
Jonathan Bulmer improved to 13-6 in dual matches at one doubles this season with a 7-5 win over Joel Hancox and Max Goldbeck-Lowe.
Joel Mast and
Quintan van Wijk improved to 15-3 at two doubles this season with a 6-1 win over Brandon McEachern and Josep Coll Llopis. Simon Uhlen and Nicholas Klak for Aquinas won at three doubles (7-6) 7-5 in a tiebreak over
Maxim Drinchich and
Daniil Khitrou.
J.L. van Antwerpen at one singles won 6-2, 6-3 for his 61st career win and 12th this season. Bulmer won 6-0, 6-0 at three singles over Goldbeck-Lowe and earned his 15th singles win this season and 66th of his career. Drinchich at six singles improved to 3-1 in dual match singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Klak. Mast at four singles got a 6-3, 6-3 win over Uhlen. van Wijk was victorious at two singles in three sets (3-6, 6-3, 6-1) and improved to 16-2 in dual match singles this season.
