CALEDONIA, Mich. - On a Friday afternoon in the GLIAC home opener, Davenport played No. 17 Parkside down to the final minutes in a scoreless battle. With both teams having scoring chances in the match's crunch time, the visiting Rangers found the goal they needed for a 1-0 win. In the 87th minute, Bryan Torres scored his first goal of the season from straight on from roughly 19 yards into the top right corner. Edgar Heredia Victoria had a feed from the top corner of the box to a wide-open Torres for the assist on the goal.

Parkside improves to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the GLIAC while the Panthers are now 1-5 overall and 0-2 in league action. It was the third 1-0 loss of the season for Davenport. The Rangers had control of the first half with a 9-1 edge in total shots. The Panthers did have their chances in the second half with five total shots compared to six by Parkside. The final stat sheet showed seven shots on goal for Parkside compared to three for Davenport.
