Davenport Comes From Behind for First GLIAC Win of 2022

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Facing a 1-0 second-half deficit to Purdue Northwest, Davenport's Medina Hindic (pictured) and Citlali Luna went back to back to put the Panthers ahead for good and give them their first GLIAC win of the season. DU improves to 2-3-2 overall, 1-1-1 in GLIAC play and will host Parkside on Sunday beginning at 3:30 p.m. at The Farm.

Hindic's first career goal came at the 54:19 mark thanks to an assist by Haley Diekevers, the second helper of her career and first of the season. Less than three minutes later, Luna became the first Panther to score multiple goals this season as she found the back of the net at the 57:02 mark.

Overall, Davenport out-shot Purdue Northwest by 10, 14-4, including 6-4 in shots on goal. The Panthers' 14 shots came from nine different players while four of those nine fired multiple attempts including Hindic (3 shots, 2 shots on goal), Luna (2 shots, 1 shot on goal), Sarah Possett (2 shots, 1 shot on goal), and Diekevers (2 shots). Arianna Diemer and Ainsley Oliver tallied a shot on target for the home team as well.

In goal, Gabriana Bennecke stopped three Pride shots on four total attempts. Friday's effort marked three in a row in which Bennecke has faced five shots or less, something that'd happened just twice in her career prior.
