COLUMBUS, Ohio - The women's golf team got into the swing of the fall season over the past two days at the Champions of Women's Golf Tournament hosted by Ohio Dominican. The Panthers stood in fourth place after the first round on Monday and concluded the tournament in fifth place out of 16 schools on Tuesday with a two-round total of 634. Three different Panthers broke 80 yesterday but the conditions proved to be more difficult on Tuesday as Melissa Walker's 80 was the best score for DU.

Hannah Meloche fired a two-over par 72 in the opening round with an even 35 on the front nine with a birdie on the seventh hole. She carded a birdie on the par-4, 11th hole and shot 37 on the back side. Meloche shot an 81 in the final round and finished in a tie for fifth with a score of 153. Becky Williams of Otterbein and Maya Hunter of Northern Michigan tied for first with a 149.

Lauren Gervais playing in her first tournament for Davenport tied for 12th with a total of 156. She shot 74 in the first round and 82 in the final round. Gervais carded two birdies in the opening round on the seventh and 14th holes. Ahja Crosby tied for 24th with a total of 160. She shot 78 and 82 with a birdie in the final round on the 14th hole, a par-4 measuring 310 yards. The aforementioned Walker turned around her score of 85 with a five-stroke improvement in the final round and climbed 19 spots to a tie for 40th. Karlee Hallberg tied for 66th with a score of 173. Courtney Coffman tied for 69th with a score of 174.
