GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The torrid scoring for
Marcedus Leech Jr. continued on Saturday afternoon as he eclipsed 30-plus points for the second time in the last three games in a 90-73 loss to Purdue Northwest. Leech Jr. scored 31 points and also led the team with seven assists as the kingpin of the team's offense against the Pride. He finished 9-of-19 from the floor including 4-of-8 from the arc and 9-of-10 at the foul line and played all 40 minutes for the second time this season.
No other Panther was able to score in double figures but a pair had nine points including
Jordan Sterling and
Jeff Carrier. Sterling was 4-of-9 from the floor while Carrier went 2-of-2 from the arc and 3-of-4 from the foul line. Carrier also had five rebounds, three assists, and no turnovers in 21 minutes.
Assane Diouf led the team with seven rebounds and scored five points in just 10 minutes.
The Pride hoisted 42 three-pointers and made 17 for 40.5 percent. They also made the most of their free throws going 17-of-20. The Panthers finished 24-of-57 (42.1 percent) from the floor and was 15-of-21 at the free throw stripe.
