Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Diekevers records sixth goal of season as Panthers tie PNW

CALEDONIA, Mich. - Davenport University women's soccer second half resurgence allowed the Panthers to avoid an upset on their home pitch against Purdue Northwest in a 1-1 draw.

PNW struck early credited to a deep shot from Camille Schafer from way outside the box, slipping past Bailey Gauthier and putting the Pride up 1-0 (10'). The remainder of the first half went scoreless following multiple shot attempts from the Panthers (six attempts, two on goal).

DU came into the second half with an aggressive mindset as they tallied an 8-1 shot attempt count, three of which were on target. Following a shot from Jada Spillers that just sailed over the crossbar, Alyssa Melquist created a scoring opportunity for the Panthers by flicking a pass to Haley Diekevers, Diekevers rocketing her shot into the left side of the goal and leveling the match, 1-1 (70').

The remainder of the match was nothing short of chaotic as DU recorded five shot attempts in the last 10 minutes, one shot by Olivia Bosworth that just barely hit the crossbar and would have put the Panthers in front. However, PNW's defense held up as the match concluded in the second draw between the opponents this season for a 0-0-2 series record.

With a 5-5-5 overall record (2-5-5 GLIAC), DU hosts Wisconsin-Parkside on Senior Day.
