DETROIT, Mich. - The Davenport swimming and diving teams competed on Friday night at Matthaei Natatorium on the campus of Wayne State. The Panthers had a tri-meet against the Warriors and Ashland.
The men's squad was able to defeat Ashland 154-76 but fell 132-100 against Wayne State. The women's team had the same script as they beat Ashland 170-66 but lost 135.5 to 98.5 against the Warriors.
Aubrey Underwood was able to win the 1,000 free with a time of 10:40.04.
Angie Lorena Gomez Garcia was second in the same event with a time of 10:45.40.
Rebecca Wallis finished second in the 200 free with a time of 1:55.48.
Julia Mizik placed second in the 50 free with a time of 24.81. She also won the 100 free in a time of 54.65.
Ella Wagner won the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.10. She also placed first in the 200 back with a time of 2:06.02. Wagner made it three wins during the meet with a time of 2:24.22 in the 200 breast.
Alicja Pinkowicz finished third in the 200 fly with a time of 2:09.58.Â
Kevin Mills was victorious in the 50 free with a time of 21.57 and
Eric Perczak was right behind him in second with a time of 21.83.
David Szczygiel was able to place second in the 200 fly with a time of 1:54.67.
Alvaro Ruiz de Canas stood atop the podium in first in the 100 free with a time of 48.09.
Owen Stender was able to win the 200 breast with a time of 2:10.60.
Robert Hall was on his heels in second place with a time of 2:11.74.Â
