Preview: Panthers, Lakers to Square Off on Halloween Night

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport women's volleyball team is set to resume action on Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31, hosting Grand Valley State at 7 p.m. in the DU Student Center. The Crosstown Showdown will conclude a four-match homestand and be the third match played in five days for the Panthers.

Davenport is in a fight for a top-four spot in the conference, as the top-four teams in the league host the first round of the GLIAC Tournament. The Panthers are sitting at No. 4, tied with Michigan Tech. Both teams are two games back of Parkside, who is in third with a GLIAC record of 9-7 and just delivered Ferris State its first conference loss of the season. 

Player Notes
Lindsay Taylor
  • Recorded her 11th double-double of the season against Northern Michigan (Oct. 28).
  • Tied a career-high in kills with 23 against the Wildcats.
  • Has notched a double-double in five of the last six matches. 
  • Fifth in the conference in total kills (299)

Nicole Odeen
  • Registered a season-high 53 assists vs. NMU (Oct. 28), two shy of her career-high.
